On June 21, Jennifer "Jenna" Dennis, of Marseilles, was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle north of town and was flown to a suburban Chicago medical center where she remains in critical condition.
Friends and neighbors are organizing a fundraiser this weekend to assist the family.
The benefit is scheduled for 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at the American Legion Hall in Marseilles. Tickets will be $10 in advance or at the door that day. Kids younger than 5 can enter at no charge. Organizers said the event will include food, soft drinks, 50-50 raffles, silent auctions, gift baskets to be raffled off and a special door prize. Power House DJ will provide music.
Individuals who wish to make a cash donation to the family may do so at any time by sending or taking a check to "Benefit for Jennifer Dennis," Twin Oaks Savings Bank, 125 W. Bluff St., Marseilles, IL 61341.

She was airlifted to Loyola University Health Systems facility and its Ronald McDonald's Children's Hospital's intensive care unit in Maywood.
Jennifer is the daughter of Sandy Dennis of Marseilles.
The accident remains under investigation by the Marseilles Police Department with the assistance of the La Salle County Sheriff's Office and the La Salle County State's Attorney's Office.
