To raise donations for the Special Olympics, at least two Illinois State troopers from District 17 will climb a fire engine ladder early Friday morning to the roof of the Dunkin' Donuts, 2749 Columbus St., Ottawa. Trooper Craig Graham said he and fellow Trooper Tony Brucher both will take turns being the "Cop on a Rooftop" starting at 5 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, rain or shine, to raise funds for the many people who participate in Special Olympics each year. Special Olympics is a sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions. "For a $10 donation or more, you will get a metal travel mug filled with coffee," Graham said. "We would like to raise $2,000 during our time on the roof, so we invite everyone to come on out to Dunkin' Donuts Friday to grab a mug and a doughnut to help us reach that goal." The Ottawa Fire Department will give the troopers a boost to the rooftop for the event. Imagine that! A Donut Shop! LOL!
